We combine advanced imaging, metabolic profiling, cellular stress and disease models to uncover new principles of metabolic regulation of mtDNA and mitochondrial function across yeast, mammalian cells, and mouse models. We also aim to integrate evolutionary and mathematical frameworks to understand how long-term metabolic pressures shape mtDNA size.
